Asian Boxing Championships 2022: Indian boxers Meenakshi and Preeti registered victories in different fashions, making their debut in the semi-finals of the Asian Boxing Championship in Amman, Jordan on Saturday. World Championship bronze medalist Parveen (63 kilo) also made it to the semi-finals by defeating Thailand’s Pampatchara Somnuik.
Meenakshi (52 kg) defeated four-time Southeast Asian Games medalist Irish Magno of the Philippines 4-1 in the quarterfinals, while Preeti (57 kg) produced a brilliant performance to win 5-0 against Turdibekova Sitora of Uzbekistan. স্ষ্তিক ক্র Meenakshi will face Mongolia in the semi-finals on November 9, while Preeti will face Japan’s Irish army.

In another quarterfinal match, Sakshi (54 kg) lost to Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Chinese Taipei 0-5 to Xiao Wen Huang. On Friday night, Anant Chopade (54 kg) defeated Japan’s Tanaka Shogo 5-0 to enter the quarterfinals, while Itash Khan (60 kg) lost 2-3 to Thailand’s Khunatip Pidnuch. Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lavlina Borgohen (75 kg) will start her campaign on Saturday.
Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Mohammad Husamuddin (57kg) and five-time Asian medalist Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) will compete in the quarterfinals on Sunday with five other Indian boxers.
