The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday that it would soon offer e-rupees for a pilot basis. This will help strengthen India’s digital economy, make the payment system more efficient and prevent money laundering.

The central bank said that the digital rupee system supported by India’s advanced payment systems will further strengthen India’s digital economy, make the monetary and payment system more efficient and help in financial inclusion.
