RBI Canceled Bank License: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday ordered another bank to be closed with immediate effect. This is the cooperative bank of Maharashtra. Its name is Maharashtra Laxmi Co-operative Bank Limited (Maharashtra’s Laxmi Co-operative Bank). RBI has informed that it has canceled the license of Lakshmi Sahakari Bank Limited of Maharashtra. The bank regulator has requested the cooperation of the commissioner and cooperative societies, the registrar of Maharashtra to issue an order to close the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank. RBI ne kya kaha?
The central bank said that Lakshmi Co-operative Bank will close its banking business on Thursday (September 22, 2022). The Reserve Bank has clarified that the bank is not able to pay the full amount of the depositors in its current financial situation.

What will happen to customers’ money?
Please note that customers of this bank will get an insurance cover of 5 lakh rupees through the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) insurance scheme of RBI.
