The ministry said in a statement that the export of non-basmati rice in the April-June quarter of 2022 also increased by five percent to 1.56 billion dollars. In this period, the export of agricultural and processed food products increased by 31 percent to 7.4 billion dollars. According to the Ministry of Commerce, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APIDA) has set an export target of 23.56 billion dollars for the export of agricultural and processed food products for the current financial year.

Record increase in dairy products

During this period, besides fresh fruits and vegetables, there has also been an increase in the export of grains. The ministry said that meat, dairy and poultry products increased by 9.5 percent. Dairy products recorded an increase of 67.15 percent because its exports increased to 19.1 million dollars in the first three months of the current fiscal year. APIDA president M Angmuthu said that the goal is to maintain growth in India’s agricultural and processed food exports in the current financial year by creating an essential export ecosystem with the cooperation of key stakeholders in the agricultural-export value chain.
