BCCI Secretary General Jay Shah recently revealed that former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not receiving any payment for the Indian team’s technical participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Dhoni had bid farewell to international cricket on 15 August 2020, but in view of Dhoni’s success in the ICC tournament, BCCI has given him the responsibility of sponsoring the T20 World Cup.

Speaking to ANI, Jay Shah said “MS Dhoni does not take any honor in his role as coach of the Indian team at the T20 World Cup.”

India start the tournament by playing Pakistan against 24 October. India is in the second group of Super 12. Apart from India and Pakistan, there are also teams from New Zealand and Afghanistan in the group. The remaining two teams will make their place in the team after the game.
